BlackBerry screen capture December 11, 2008

I just found a cool little tool for the BlackBerry that allows you to take screenshots of your BlackBerry screen.
I’m working with my friend Rachel on her blog and wanted to show her how my blog now appears on mobile devices through Mofuse.
BBScreen is an executable file (*.EXE) that just runs a batch file process. Of course you could just run these commands from a prompt – this just makes the job a little faster. The link I’ve provided just sends you to a Google results page; every download location – albeit several – required I register on their forums. So if you’re already registered on BlackBerry Forums or BlackBerry Cool or Pinstack.com, you should probably search for it there.
In the process of searching for the software, I came across a Flickr group where people are sending their BlackBerry screenshots.
I’ll write more about Mofuse in my next post.
BuddyPress soon to be released for WordPress MU December 8, 2008
Posted by Kristin Lynch in : technology , add a commentA friend told me about a soon-to-be-release application called BuddyPress that can be used in tandem with WordPress MU – the ‘multi-user’ version of the popular blogging software.
Newspapers, blog networks and universities use WordPress MU to allow unlimited user accounts and unlimited blogs to all run under a single installation, sharing plug-ins, etc.
BuddyPress takes this one step further by allowing for the creation of social networking into these blogs through a series of special plug-ins. Participants can create user accounts and groups, send private messages, add friends and send status updates. Photos will soon be available as well. Take a peek at their demo site or get details about the beta release.
Blog updates December 7, 2008
Posted by Kristin Lynch in : technology , add a commentI’ve finally gotten around to running some upgrades on my blog. I upgraded WordPress to the newest Release Candidate and two other minor upgrades just since last night.
You’ll also notice I’ve finally added my Flickr, Facebook and Twitter content to the new version of my site/blog.
The plug-in installation process is so simple I’ll need to exercise some restraint here or this site could really become a mess very quickly.
More soon…
